Bob Odden's Bio Graduated from Mound High School second in a class of 210. BA in Civil Engineering from the U of M with a strong background in Architecture. Worked 30 years as a safety consultant/risk manager for truckers and contractors for whom I have saved countless lives and prevented thousands of injuries. Have lived in Columbia Heights since 1998. Member of “Friends of the Library” for Columbia Heights. Did belong to Christopher's Toastmasters in Columbia Heights. Enjoy repairing things and working with various organizations to pin point and solve problems. I am an eastsider with westsider sensibility. Involved in the caucus system for House District 50A and was a precinct, district, and state caucus delegate. Have interviewed hundreds of citizens to find out why they move to the city and why they leave. Took part in the Round Table Discussions on affordable housing, education, and jobs in 1997. Have run for City Council before to influence City Policy to preserve the essence of Columbia Heights. I read what is happening at the Federal and State level and relate that to how it will affect the City of Columbia Heights and share that with the City Council. That gives the Council years to prepare for what will happen as a result of Federal and State policy changes. I write editorials on city policy and attend city council meetings prepared and paid for by the Bob Odden Campaign for Mayor
